This year, Man and his Best friend walk to the theme:
‘A walk against crime’

Held on Sunday August 24th, 2003 from 7:00-12:00 am. around the perimeter of the Queen’s Park Savannah. This was our first, grand fund-raising venture. This was the first event to have multiple sponsors in T&T, with 7 brands of dog chow being represented and 10 different sponsors.

Over 100 dogs of all breeds took part in this novel event and a turnout of over 350 people, more than was expected for an early Sunday morning. Over $3000 Cash Prizes was given, together with numerous door prizes of over 50 bags of dog chow.

The Individual Winner was Mr. Vithala Singh(our VP) with his sable female 'China', making a total of 4 laps of the Savannah which is roughly about 12 miles. Mr. Singh took home a cash prize of $1000 and a 50lb bag of Pro Plan Performance Sponsored by Yip Choy Bailey.

The Winning Team was Sponsored by Barkkin Dogs Ltd and Hill's Science Diet. The combined efforts of the 6 team members resulted in them making 22 laps within 4 hours. They walked away with the Grand Prize of $2000. This team which was made up of 6 Dobs and fully uniformed handlers were easily the most organized and uniform team present on the day.

There was also demonstrations by the T&T Police Service Dogs showing their working abilities in bitework. They also presented a team of dogs which participated in the walk, sponsored by National Flour Mills and Winner's Choice Dog Food.
